Three step process , recommended by "MIRACLE", for total paint care,
reconditioning and protection at a professional level :

Cleaning and removing scratches and oxidation.

For the first step a polish machine, cutting pad, and cutting compound are needed. This type of product when combined with the heat and friction provided by the buffing machine and pad will remove damaged and exposed paint while revealing a new layer of paint underneath. This is a very common practice in the automotive industry. Automobile manufacturers and body shops purposely apply multiple layers of paint with the knowledge that cutting compounds will be used to remove scratches and recondition the finish.

In order to truly recondition your cars paint this step is vital, as it is the only way to completely remove scratches and oxidation. Waxes and polishes can hide damaged paint, but they will eventually wear off. Cleaning your surface is important, as it is the foundation of your polishing process. If your surface is damaged to begin with, your result will not be the best it can be.

Polishing to revive true color and recondition smooth surface.

As the first step is for cleaning, the second step is to restore luster, color, and create a smooth polished surface. A polish machine is again recommended, with a polishing pad and a brand of liquid polish. The difference between a cutting pad and a polish pad is that the polish pad is softer, therefore creating a smooth, shiny surface. The polish will chemically react with the heat and friction from the pad creating a polished surface, restoring the original color of the paint to the newly exposed layer, the result of step A.

Waxing to seal finish, protect, and bring out a deep "wet look" shine.

At this point the paint will be clean, shiny and smooth to the touch. The final step should provide protection and bring out a new car "wet look" shine. The protection factor is important as the elements of climate and environment in Hong Kong can be brutal to our unprotected finish.

A finish wax should be applied by hand in a circular motion with a soft clean cloth or a wax applicator. Cover the entire painted surface and allow to dry ( usually no more than 10 minutes ). A finish wax needs to dry in order to bond with the pores in the paint creating a long lasting protective coating. After the wax has dried, remove with the same circular motion using a dry, clean and soft towel. "MIRACLE" Banana Creme will leave very little dust and is non sticky, to remove with ease.

To properly care for and recondition your cars finish these 3 steps are recommended. Each is important as each serves a different purpose. However, if the car finish is new or undamaged the first step may not be necessary.

Beware of products which claim to perform more than one step at a time, such as cleaning, removing scratches and po1ishing. Removing scratches requires specific chemical properties that are not included in polishes or waxes. A cleaning product will remove damaged paint, write a wax will apply a protective coating. Thus making it impossible to do both at once.

For those car owner who wish to maintain a beautiful finish for their investment, some time and effort must be taken. However, the rewards of a beautiful finish that will protect the value of your investment should make your effort well worth it.
